 The Photographer   First off I have to say I am not a professional YET.  I have been told I take a great picture and many people ask me to take pictures of them because they love the results.  I haven't had the formal classes and  many will say it is not the classes but natural talent that says if your a photographer.  You can say I have the eye for a beautiful scene. It started when I was young.  I remember having a 110 camera when I was a  young girl.  I would take pictures of the park and animals for my projects in school.  I took many pictures of my pet birds and squirrels at that age. 

     A old man next door to us in our building gave me a few books which were quite old.  One of them talked about art. The other about taking pictures.  I read it quite a few times, I read about lighting, how to take pictures of babies.  How taking pictures of animals and children was one of the hardest things.  I am not sure how much of it rubbed off.  But I began to experiment with my camera as I got older.

     I took pictures of family, friends,  and my pets.  I graduate to a 35mm in my late teens.  I love it and I would take pictures of scenery, then try to imitate it with my art.  I didn't even realize that taking pictures was an art form.  In my early twenties, I learned angles.  Through trial and error I found how natural lighting affected my pictures.  I even entered a few of my photos into contests.

     When I was in my mid twenties, my husband bought a digital camera. I realized how this would affect my picture taking skills.  I can preview and see my pictures ahead of time.  I was excited,  it was like a dream come true.  I entered my pictures again into a picture contest. Two of my photos were accepted for publication at www.picture.com. 

     Still to this day one of my great joys is taking pictures.  I have even learned to take pictures of myself. (See black and white picture to the Left)  My friends, bbw parties, my pets, and my family are my favorite subjects.  With my new digital camera I plan to keep practicing and when I get enough money I want to take a formal photography classes.

     This form of art is something I enjoy, even though it is a hobby for me at the moment.  I would like to be able to capture special moments for people.  Many have told me that I already have.

     After going through my many pictures I found quite a few that I am proud of.  Taking Pictures for me is a expression of beauty.  A beauty I did not create with my hands, but one that I captured.

Location: Bronx NYC. Moshula, - Capturing pictures of Tunnels with movement is interesting to me. What surprise with this shot is that somone spray painted WHITES in this tunnel. It stands out.

     I have been working on my Scenic project called "Scenes from the Highway" for over a year now.  I am fascinated by the natural layout of the land which is altered by man made structures.  The soft beauty of nature mixed and cut through by the hard coolness of cars, highways, lamppost's and buildings.  It is a man made creation and is unnatural yet when seen together it seems to fit so well.
