The Model
Fat girls were not
allowed to model when I was a girl. No matter how
beautiful I was, no one would say I could model. Wait
in fact I did get that a few times but it was always with
the standard. If you wasn't so fat you could be a
model, you got the height for it. Just lose the weight
and you would be a fox. What the hell type of
compliment is that. All I need to do is cut my head off and
put it on a skinny body to be a fox? I am beautiful
already I don't need to change myself to prove that.
What
does model mean?
"One
serving as an example to be imitated or compared"
Is that what we are supposed to do.
Imitate and compare ourselves with the models in magazines
now. Women who have model bodies naturally with
out diet, exercise and drugs are less than 1% of the world
wide population. Even models cannot keep there bodies
with out dieting and driving themselves crazy. How is
the general public suppose to make themselves into the so
called IDEAL MODEL?
Finally women even though they are not extremely big are
modeling. They are called plus sized models.
Though being 5'10 and 200 lbs is not really plus sized. A
size 20 at 6 feet tall is not plus sized. A very poor
representation of beautiful natural women.
As a teen I often went to different modeling companies and
they loved the simple pictures taken with my 110 camera.
They said I had the face, the height, the camera loved me.
All I had to do was get professional photos taken of me
500.00 - 800.00 dollars worth of them so they can present
them to companies. I didn't have that kind of
money. When I confronted the manager at a modeling
company, and told him about a show I saw in which a top model
search executive said. "You can walk in with a 3x4 picture
of yourself and if you got it you got it" I
asked the manager, "Do I got it?" Your
beautiful, your natural and perfect but your body wont get
you work. I decided not to model after that. If
they can't accept me as I am, I don't have time. But in
the back of my head I always wanted to model. I wanted
to prove that a big woman could be beautiful.
On the internet there is a whole world in which the truly
big women of America and the world are modeling.
Either for there own websites or other sites. Yes a
lot of it is called Fetish work because we are not seen as
Ideal Model material. Many times there is only XXX work left
for the true fat girls who want to model. Luckily I
was able to create my own site and model for myself.
From this I have been found by many photographers and
international magazines who have asked me to do photo shoots
or send in my professional pictures to be placed in there
magazines. Most times it is positive exposure but sometimes
you get something negative, and they use you for a comical
note. I don't mind that when I am sending in a
wrestling or squashing picture. That can be quite funny if
you have never seen a little man with a huge woman sitting
on him. But I have never had anyone ask for my professional
modeling pictures and make fun of them.
Even though I am 31 years old I plan to continue modeling.
I will do as much modeling as I am allowed to do. No
clothing company is going to pick me up and try to fit me
into their clothes. Fact is I am just out of reach of
regular BBW designed lines. Still their is work for
someone like me in the industry, on the net. Every few months
another magazine, artist, photographer or documentary
company comes along. They want to feature me in something
and weather the feature is big or small I do it.
Sometimes an online designer or production company may ask
me to model their clothes or products for their website. I
happy to do it, the more women like me are seen for whatever
reason. The sooner the Ideal Model image will be
destroyed. Hopefully one day I will see a woman my
size on the cover of Vogue.
Currently I
am giving other big men and women the opportunity to be a
Cover Model for my online magazine
www.LargeInCharge.com
I guess I couldn't wait for the cover of Vogue.
